About us

Welcome to My Monkey Mind UK - Holistic Well-Being & Online Counselling.

A growing lifestyle community in the Northwest of similar minded people, looking for similar goals, building new toolkits for life, for both public and corporate.

​

In a modern society of more more more, now now now! we are becoming more aware of ourselves and our needs, especially our need to reset from the stress and anxiety of the day to day. Self care is becoming a major priority.

​

Together, we aim to guide you to a stronger mindset and feeling of self through exercise, nature, breath-work, meditation, cold water therapy/ ice bath, movement & sound therapy. All these aspects when used regularly, will build your resilience and immune system, bringing a feeling of being able to deal with life's strains a little easier. We host and facilitate events across the Northwest, whether that is in groups or 1-2-1 along with online sessions in breathwork, meditation and cold water therapy.

We also offer professional counselling sessions online with our experienced and qualified therapists, who cater for everyone who requires the space to work on themselves further.

As a community, we can all grow together and support each member. Let's deal with that chattering monkey mind!

Experience...first hand

I'm Chris, Founder & Coach of My Monkey Mind.
As a Certified Oxygen Advantage coach, qualified and experienced cold water therapist, along with being an IBF (International Breath-work Foundation), Global Professional Breathwork Alliance & ICAHP (International Compliance Assurance for Holistic Practitioners) member, I can show you how to improve your breathing technique which can:

  • Improve sleep.

  • Affect heart rate & blood pressure.

  • Aid performance.

  • Improve focus.

  • Gain control.

  • Lower stress & anxiety.

  • Improve mood.

These techniques can support better health and mental well-being, and can also be carried into your cold water therapy sessions, down regulating your sympathetic nervous system and activating your body's parasympathetic nervous system, decreasing anxiety & gaining control.

We include many breath-work practices in our coaching, giving you access to a toolkit of methods and forming your own practice that helps you.

I have walked my own path with mental health following the sudden loss of my father, where I put myself on the back burner to look after my mum and sister. Two years later that came back to bite me, bringing panic attacks and anxiety, to the point it affected my employment. Being prescribed medication didn’t sit right with me, and only acts as a sticking plaster. I delved into holistic practices such as breath-work and cold water therapy. I’ve never looked back since, and want to pass this learning onto those who will benefit from its powers.
